A big congratulations to Emma Travland of Fredericksburg on her recent success at the Fort Worth Stock Show Jr. Market Steer Show. Emma & Mopsy were named Reserve Grand Champion Angus Steer. Mopsy comes from a very successful blood line with his maternal grand dam winning Reserve Champion Angus Heifer at the 2009 San Antonio Livestock Exposition and State Fair of Texas; his maternal great grand dam was the 2005 Grand Champion Angus Heifer at the Fort Worth Stock Show and Star of Texas Fair.
We have a number of high quality show steer and heifer prospects available now at private treaty. See the cattle for sale page for more information and contact Robert with any questions.
About Lastovica Angus Farm...
Lastovica Angus Farm started in 1977 when Robert bought his first show heifer, a purchase made possible by the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Calf Scramble Program. More than 35 years later, the program continues to thrive in producing registered Angus females that can perform both in and out of the show ring; functional herd sires suitable for commercial, purebred and clubby operations; and high quality Angus steers that have proven competitive on the Texas major show circuit.
At the core of our business is family. Robert and Abban, Logan, Mary Avery and Piper, Mollie and Canaan, and Mattie take pride in the tradition and work ethic that have come to fruition in running a family business. In 1998, Logan started his show career, followed by Mollie in 2000 and Mattie in 2006. During their 16 years in the show ring, the trio tallied a long list of success. This included Grand Champion Angus Female at Fort Worth, San Angelo, Star of Texas and the Heart of Texas Fair; Reserve Grand Champion Angus Female at San Antonio twice, State Fair of Texas and the Texas Junior Angus Show and Grand Champion Angus Steer at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and the Heart of Texas Fair, along with countless division winners across the state. The kids were also heavily involved in the Texas Junior Angus Association and National Junior Angus Association, competing successfully in many events on the state and national stage.
Today, we remain focused on producing cattle with superior phenotypes, acceptable pedigrees and balanced EPDs. We are a versatile operation and take pride in building meaningful and lasting relationships with our customers. Nestled in Fredericksburg, Texas, part of the beautiful Texas Hill Country, we invite you to plan a visit to our farm and hope to welcome you into our cattle family.
